Our most successful organizations use Huntr as a tool to keep job seekers motivated and accountable for their job search activities. Part of this accountability includes defining and tracking certain activity goals that job seekers are expected to meet on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.

Designing goals

The first step in using Huntr as a job search goal tracking tool is to define these goals and communicate them to job seekers. Here are some examples of typical job search goals our clients have developed:

We recommend each goal to:

a) be linked to an Activity

b) have a specific time frame

c) have an expected activity count threshold that each job seeker needs to meet

d) have a logging dealine

Here is a sample table shows some sample goals along with all the elements you need for a goal. Feel free to use it as a template for designing your own goals.

Goal Design Samples

Once you have decided on a set of goals, and communicated these to your job seekers (see Onboarding Job Seekers), you need to ensure that Huntr is setup to track the activities you have defined goals for. This means:

  1. Ensure that the proper activity category exists for each goal

  2. Ensure that job seekers know how and when to log progress for each goal

  3. Ensure that advisors know how to track goal progress
